StART Animal Art helps you to understand how to draw animals in a fun and hands-on way. Maybe you want to draw your own pet portrait of get closer to nature? This is the course for you! Join us for step-by-step demonstrations and discover how to master the basics of drawing animals while developing your own unique style. Your tutor will share helpful hints, tips, and techniques to help you understand structure and form, zoom in on the details of features, textures, and markings. No matter your skill level, everyone’s welcome—let’s have fun creating together! You can expect to learn using a combination for live observation and reference photos. I have some friendly guinea pigs and chickens willing to model, and an impressive collection of animal skulls. You will learn a simple way to understand the structure of animals, and we will do some 'cutesy' and expressive illustrations in watercolour and ink. In subsequent classes we will explore easy techniques for creating amazing fur using soft pastels, coloured pencils and acrylics. Materials provided - the most important thing to bring is yourself!
